I’m Casey Patrick, a professional photographer based in South Bend, Indiana, specializing in weddings, senior portraits, corporate headshots, and events. With over a decade of experience behind the camera, I’ve built my career on capturing authentic moments and creating images that feel natural, timeless, and uniquely personal to each client.
Photography, for me, is more than just a profession—it’s a way to connect with people, tell their stories, and bring their personalities to life. Whether I’m working with a couple celebrating their engagement, a senior preparing for graduation, or a business professional updating their headshot, my goal is always the same: to create a relaxed and enjoyable experience that results in stunning, meaningful photographs.
One of the most powerful aspects of photography is the way light shapes a subject, sets a mood, and tells a story. Over the years, I’ve dedicated myself to mastering professional lighting techniques, ensuring that every client is captured in the best possible way.
My background includes not only hands-on experience but also educating others in the industry. I’ve worked at Gene’s Camera Store for over a decade, where I’ve advised photographers on gear, techniques, and lighting solutions. Additionally, I’ve spoken at Shutterfest, sharing my knowledge with other professionals eager to refine their craft.
Lighting isn’t just about making a photo look good—it’s about making you look and feel your best.
Lighting isn’t just about brightness; it’s about depth, contrast, and how it shapes a subject. I use strategic lighting to enhance facial features, create dimension, and set the right atmosphere for each session.
No two sessions are the same, which is why I tailor my lighting approach to suit the individual. Whether I’m using soft, classic Rembrandt lighting for a timeless look, high-key lighting for a bright and polished feel, or dramatic shadows for a bold aesthetic, I ensure that the lighting aligns with your personality, brand, or story.
Every individual has a unique complexion, and lighting should enhance, not overpower, natural beauty. I meticulously adjust lighting setups to ensure that skin tones look natural and balanced, avoiding harsh shadows or unflattering highlights.
Using top-tier lighting equipment and modifiers, I create an environment where we control the light, rather than letting it control us. Whether in a studio setting or on location, I ensure that conditions are optimized for the best possible outcome.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my career has been my work with the University of Notre Dame. My journey began years ago while working at Gene’s Camera Store, where I built relationships with the university’s photography team. Over time, as I shared my own work with them, I was honored to be invited to freelance for major campus events.
As a lifelong Notre Dame fan, this opportunity has been incredibly meaningful to me and my family. Photographing on campus has given me the chance to work alongside talented professionals, document historic moments, and capture the energy of one of the most iconic universities in the country.
When I’m not photographing clients, I’m spending time with my five incredible kids, exploring the outdoors, and finding new adventures. Camping, hiking, and spontaneous road trips are some of my favorite ways to unwind and recharge.
I also share my home with a house full of animals, each with their own personality, making life even more fun and unpredictable.
At the heart of everything I do is a love for people and storytelling. Photography isn’t just about creating beautiful images—it’s about making connections, celebrating milestones, and capturing the essence of each person’s journey.
I’d love to hear your story and bring your vision to life through photography. Let’s create something unforgettable together.
